Pteg plastic is a special synthetic substance, more commonly known as PET plastic – it’s used in food and beverage containers, it’s also the substance behind Mylar and certain types of polyester. Designed to be hard wearing and flexible, this substance can be rolled and produced incredibly thin – which allows it to stretch and move and expand to a certain degree, or made into harder bottles.
Incredibly easy to recycle, PET plastics are hard wearing and don’t readily degrade – making them the ideal substance for containers that need to be produced again and again, or for products that need to be protected with an impermeable barrier. This quality can be harnessed and used, in the production of ‘glass like’ substances, such as where glass would be unsuitable, because its too heavy or too hard to produce – pteg plastic is the cheaper alternative to glass containers because it doesn’t degrade under normal conditions.
